2013 Boao Direct Selling Summit Event

On the morning of May 30, participants gathered again at the Asia Bay Performing Arts Center for the “2013 Boao Direct Selling Summit—Connecting the World from Here” academic seminar. The themes were engaging, in-depth, and highly relevant to the times, offering attendees a rich intellectual feast. Let’s now share how industry experts, scholars, and corporate executives delivered a series of remarkable academic speeches.


Topic 1: The speaker was Mr. Fan Weiyun, General Manager of Shanghai Meiai International Professional Marketing Agency. Mr. Fan delivered an inspiring speech titled “The Times Are Changing, Where Are You?”


Topic 2: Presented by Li Ran, from the Cloud Computing Industry Innovation and Incubation Center and IDC Operations Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Li Ran’s speech was themed “Data Drives the Future: Public Opinion Cloud Safeguards the Big Data Era.”


Topic 3: Delivered by Mai Haochao, Deputy General Manager of Business Development at iResearch Consulting Group. Mr. Mai’s speech focused on “Big Data Supporting the Internet Transformation of Direct Selling Enterprises.”


Topic 4: Given by Huang Xunxin, Managing Director of Hainan Paipaikan Network Technology Co., Ltd., former Product Director of Tianya Community, and former General Manager of Hainan Online. His speech was titled “Internet of Things Integrated Marketing: Turning Products into Media.”


Topic 5: Presented by Tian Yong, Deputy General Manager of Direct Selling Network. His speech was themed “Cloud Direct Selling: Big Data Industry Application Solutions.”


Topic 6: Delivered by Wang Zhihai, General Manager of Guangzhou Mengfei Network Technology Co., Ltd. His speech was titled “Direct Selling: A Prelude to Socialized Marketing.”


Topic 7: Presented by Hu Yuanjiang, Secretary-General of the Direct Selling Expert Committee of the China Marketing Association. Mr. Hu’s engaging speech was titled “The Evolution of Global Business Models in the Next Decade and Strategies for Chinese Direct Selling Enterprises.”


Topic 8: Delivered by Sun Haifeng, Brand Management Director and External Affairs Director of Tiens Group Co., Ltd. His speech was themed “The Relationship Between Brand and Culture.”


Topic 9: Presented by Chen Zhan, Vice President of the Board and Global Marketing President of Paul Bio-Tech Co., Ltd. His speech focused on “Commonalities in the Development of Enterprises and Systems.”


Topic 10: Delivered by Tian Wen, a well-known domestic marketing planning expert, independent researcher of the Chinese direct selling industry, founder of the “direct consumption” theory, and creator of a practical teaching system for consumer-oriented organizational marketing in China. His speech was titled “Stepping Toward an Era of Consumer Dominance.”


Topic 11: Presented by Professor Yu Hongjiang, a member of the Communist Party of China, young orator, former military officer with a decade of service, holder of a master’s degree in finance and a doctorate in management, bestselling author, and advocate, promoter, and educator of the Chinese traditional classic Disciples’ Rules. He studied under Professor Li Yanjie, a leading figure in Chinese educational arts, and Professor Peng Qingyi, a master of Chinese oratory arts. Formerly Deputy Director of the Direct Selling Legal Office at the State Council Development Research Center, he currently serves as Deputy Secretary-General of the Direct Selling Expert Committee of the China Marketing Association, Director of the Cadre Training Center, and Director of the Chinese Traditional Culture Dissemination Center. Professor Yu’s speech was themed “The Integration and Innovation of Traditional Culture and Direct Selling Culture.”


As the 2013 Boao Direct Selling Summit reached its final stage, the organizer, Direct Selling Network, launched three global sites—Asia-Pacific, Australia-Africa, and Europe-Americas—under the theme “Connecting the World from Here.” These sites aim to serve every Chinese direct seller worldwide, creating an online home for the global Chinese direct selling community, fostering communication platforms, and enabling interconnection, mutual exchange, and sharing of direct selling information to benefit more direct sellers!

Amid enthusiastic applause from the audience, the 2013 Boao Direct Selling Summit successfully concluded.
